Church of St. Michael is one of many area churches that supports the Backpack Program initiated by 360 Communities to provide "weekend food" to children in need in our local community. We provide food for children at North Trail Elementary School. The food includes simple items that the children can prepare themselves for both breakfast and lunch over the weekend, thus closing the gap when the children are not able to receive a nutritious breakfast and lunch at school.
The Respect Life Outreach works to promote respect for human life from conception to natural death, to bring about a conversion of heart and mind to be open to God’s special gift of life. A consistent ethic of life reflects the Church’s firm conviction of the dignity of each and every person. Created in the image and likeness of God, every person is unique and special. Each of us has a responsibility to God, to self and to others to nurture, protect and sustain life at all stages.
Before each school year, Church of St. Michael parishioners donate a variety of school supplies to each of the districts schools. Items are given to the School Support staff in each building who identifies and provides school supplies to students in need.
